  • Planning a wedding can be a stressful process, with hundreds of little decisions to make and details to keep straight. Thanks to the Internet, you no longer have to keep a bunch of notebooks to manage and plan your wedding. Online registries, virtual idea pinboards, and planning websites can help you track seating charts, guest information, dress and tux details, and contact information for officiants, DJs, caterers, photographers, and florists, plus a host of other tidbits.

When you need to access all this information on the go, turn to these apps — everything you need to keep your wedding plans organized, inspired, and on schedule, right in the palm of your hand.

1. iWedding Deluxe

Price: $4.99

iWedding Deluxe is about as comprehensive as wedding planning apps get. To-do lists, budgeting assistants, countdowns, and guest list organization are all included. But there are a lot of extras to be found, as well. You can specify whether guests will attend all day or only for specific parts of the event, set up seating plans and keep track of meal preferences, and even keep photos and information about the bride’s dress tucked safely behind a wall locked with a pin code, away from accidental peeking by the groom.

2. Wedding Budget

Price: $2.99; free version also available

Sticking to a budget is difficult, but this handy app helps you keep track of all the myriad details, from deposits to payments to final due dates. You can break down wedding costs into categories and subcategories including ceremony, flowers, music, photography, and bridal party attire. Choose how much to allocate to each category, and keep track of how much you’ve spent and how much is left. Set reminders for when payments are due and see graphic representations of your budget.

3. The Knot Ultimate Wedding Planner

Price: Free

The Knot is one of the most popular wedding websites on the Internet. In 2011, The Knot released the Ultimate Wedding Planner companion app, and it sure doesn’t disappoint. This planner features a countdown to the big day, wedding checklists, a comprehensive and easy-to-use budget tool, and inspiration for dresses, cakes, flowers, and more. You can access and update all your tools from TheKnot’s website, as well.

4. WeddingScan

Price: Free

Creating your wedding registry is one of the most fun parts of planning a wedding, but who wants to limit themselves to just one store? With the WeddingScan app, you can scan barcodes from items at any store and add them to a centralized registry onWeddingScan.com. Items are even geotagged with location information, so friends and family can see where you scanned them.

5. Fun Wedding

Price: 99 cents

You might think coming up with a music playlist is the easiest part of wedding planning, until you actually sit down to do it. You write down a favorite song or two, and then your mind goes blank. That’s where Fun Wedding comes in to help you find the perfect songs for every part of the event. You can listen to song samples, create a request list, search by year or genre, and get suggestions for the bride and groom’s first dance, father and bride dance, and bouquet and garter toss, among others.

6. Ultimate Wedding Planner

Price: Free

The Ultimate Wedding Planner is an all-in-one resource for all aspects of wedding planning in a friendly, accessible, down-to-earth package. You’ll find gown selection hints, wedding style ideas, and advice from wedding insiders. A worksheet section will help you plan your budget, wedding day schedule, and more.

Cut the stress, keep the joy

A wedding should be a joyous, happy occasion, and anything you can do to help eliminate the worry and stress that comes with planning a big event is a blessing. Whether you need a comprehensive wedding planner or just a little help wrangling the budget into shape, one (or more!) of these apps should fit the bill. Then you can sit back, relax, and let the wedding bells ring, knowing no detail has gotten lost in the shuffle!

New Year new you…BLAH BLAH BLAH!!!!

We have heard this for oh, I don’t know how many years, and still we feel the same, so what’s a girl to do?  Well, for one thing I have always faced my indecision head on. Here I sit on the beginning of another new year.  WOW it’s 2011 already.  I have to ask myself, do I have regrets?  Should we have regrets?  What’s wrong with regrets? Maybe we should take the past year or two as a lesson learned and improve our outlook?  The fact that you can’t apply eyeliner with the precision of the late, great Kevyn Aucoin, or are feeling a little heavy handed while trying to light up your cheeks with a little swirl of color on the apple of your cheek?  No reason to fret, I’m here to help. I have a new platform in “Contemporary Bride Magazine” of both New York and New Jersey .  I believe that we are all preconditioned to primp and tweak , and this is one of the things that makes us human. Some people do this more than others and for some it seems to be a daunting task in which they never make peace.  You can find comfort in the fact that there are no rules and no routines that work for every woman.  This is in fact is the fun part!!!  You can learn as you go, and hopefully you will relax into your beauty routine and see where it takes us…it may take us far and you may just discover the woman that you are supposed to be.  If you find yourself still bothered or confused, I’ll be here to answer any questions that may arise and as always I’ll be passing on my favorite tips and tricks to make your daily beauty routine a little more exciting, expanding your arsenal so that when you really need a trick or two, not only do you have them, you have them mastered. They will be there for the taking, our little secret, and then watch out world, it’s a new day.  Well ok it’s a new start or at least it can be.   Remember… that you, and you alone, truly own your beauty!!!

Peace and Happy New Year
